Common questions

Is this a real app or just a bookmark?

It's a real installed app. Once installed, Lucid runs in its own window — no browser bar, no tabs. Has its own icon. Push notifications. Offline support. The technology is called PWA (Progressive Web App) — used by Twitter/X, Spotify, Starbucks.

Does my progress sync between web and the installed app?

Yes. Sign in once with your email and password, and your streak, XP, badges, completed lessons, friends, and tournaments all sync across every device. Start on your phone, finish on your laptop.

Does the installed app cost more than the web version?

No. Same price. No App Store fees, no 30% Apple tax. Free to install. Same Pro tier at $19.99/mo or $149/year — identical across web and installed.

Will there ever be a "real" native iOS / Android app?

Yes — coming in 2026 once the user base justifies the App Store maintenance overhead. Native versions will have a few exclusive features (deeper iOS integrations, widget support). But the PWA already gives 95% of the experience today — no waiting needed.

How big is the install?

Under 5 MB. The PWA only caches what you actually use. Native apps in this category average 50-150 MB.

Can I install it on my work computer if IT blocks app installs?

Probably yes. PWAs install through your browser without admin rights — they don't trigger most corporate device-management blockers. Worst case: just use the web version.

How do I uninstall?

iOS / Android: long-press the icon → Remove. Mac: drag to trash from dock. Windows: right-click in Start Menu → Uninstall. Your account data stays on Lucid's servers — sign in any time to pick up where you left off.
